Attention Bloggers!

You may notice that I am a member of numerous advertising, affiliate, and paid blog posting networks all in an effort to earn a little pocket change from my web activities. And I enjoy pretty much all of the programs I work for, but some definitely earn me more money than others.

Now I have found a netowrk that is different, a network that states as it's credo: Made For Affiliates, By Affiliates. Pepperjam Network.. What is different?

1. The program is not only free to join, but there is a $10 Sign On Bonus for All New Pepperjam Network Affiliates. That's right, just for signing up as a free affiliate you will earn $10 (I did; I joined on a Friday and by Monday I was credited).

2. For the rest of this month (July 2008) all affiliate publishers will earn a flat $7 for each new referred affiliate. What a deal! You may money, the new affiliates make money, and everybody's happy when they Join Pepperjam Network and Receive a $10 Sign On Bonus.

3. If you blog, they offer a paid blog post incentive program. Any PJN member blogger is allowed to post up to 5 times per month about the Pepperjam Network and receive $10 for each post. Of course, your post must be pre-approved and must NEVER violate SPAM or bad web marketing practices! These people have some ethics! Seriously, A revolution in affiliate marketing has arrived. Gratitude

I am reminded of the importance of gratitude in life. So many of us walk around always nervous, scared, and angry. We put out anger and fear and wonder why it is that good things never seem to happen.

While it may sound simplistic, we do reap what we sow. Wake up every morning and begin your day by thinking of (and even writing down) at least 5 things that you are grateful for. Even if they are as simple as the fact that you are breathing or that it's not raining.

Done daily, this practice will quickly make you more aware of how much there is to be grateful for AND will start attracting more things to be grateful for into your life. That's the Law of Attraction in a nutshell, and it works!

The Attitude of Gratitude

In my life over the past several years I have really tried to work on myself. I still have issues with hiding the truth (especially in relation to money) and it is just constant daily hard work to bring myself to stay truthful in that regard. What is interesting is that that is the only arena left where I cannot seem to bring myself to transparency, even though that lack of transparency causes and has always caused the greatest stress in my marriage.

Part of my process here in regards to my internal work has been to be grateful. Every day no matter how crappy things may go I try to remember what I am grateful for, even if I can't come up with anything more than having a roof over my head, friends, and a great dog.

So when I opened my email this morning in the midst of what is now the third day of not speaking with my husband (to put it in John Gray's words he is "in his cave") and saw that my Conversations with God Weekly Bulletin was entitled "Gratitude Is the Attitude" I was intrigued. Neale's 10 step daily gratitude plan is brilliant! I quote,

"This is my five step formula for opening each day:

1. Gratitude
2. Song
3. Smile
4. Sacred Nourishment
5. Forgiveness

Not necessarily in that order. But touch all five if you can. If you do, I dare you to walk out of the bedroom in a dark space or a bad mood or in a grumpy state of mind. Dare you, dare you, double dare you! You can't! You won't! It's impossible!

Now I want you to do two more things and your relationship with your Significant Other will become once again the territory for bliss and growth and love abounding that it was at the beginning and was meant to be always.

1. Think of your Beloved Other, whoever is closest to you right now, and prepare a present for that person in your heart and mind, offering it to him or her before the day is out. One every day.
2. Close each day with a recital to your Beloved: "What I am grateful to you for this day...", and offer a verbal list of those items, describing each in detail.

Now I want you to do three final things each day and your whole life will change, not just your morning or your relationship.

1. Move through your day knowing that you walk with God and that God walks with you, and that another human being is going to be coming to you this day for whom you will have a gift in your hands. You do not know what that gift is right now, but it doesn't matter. You will know when God brings that person to you.
2. Do something courageous and outrageous in the next 12 hours, and do one courageous/outrageous thing every day. Then reach out and get whatever life has to offer this day. Take it with gusto, for it is your gift from life!
3. Be good to yourself this evening. Give yourself some small treat, whatever it may be, and pamper yourself in this way, saying "thanks" to you and to God for the wonderful experience of living fully this day.

This is my Ten Step Method for Achieving Daily Happiness. I don't worry about setting long range goals or meeting daily objectives or driving projects forward and using my time wisely or any of those things we hear about from motivational speakers and success trainers. I just use Gratitude, Giving, Getting, and God - the Four G's - as my pathway to fulfillment and joy, and they take me there every time."

No Experts Needed-A Review

What does a 40-something single woman with a mortgage to pay do when she gets laid off after 11 years selling advertising space for high tech publications? We hear these stories on television all the time. Such women can end up marrying the wrong men simply for security, going back to old relationships simply in the interest of stability, taking different unsatisfying jobs, going back to school, and sometimes tragically killing other people or themselves. But in the end the question they all ask is, "what is the meaning of life?" How can life have meaning without this job, this income, this lifestyle?

Look at Louise Lewis. When she was "set free" from the corporate machine and was faced with the "meaning of life" question, she decided to sit and wait and feel what might be the correct direction to take. Raised as a Christian with a close personal relationship to God (or "Spirit"), Lewis decided to listen for a message. And she found many - that this was a positive thing to not have this sales job, that she should take advantage of having time off, that she should keep looking and listening to see what the universe had in store for her, and that whatever was to come it would be great.

As Spirit says to her when she's crying in the airport, "You're going to be OK, Louise. I'll take care of you."

About a month after the shocking news, while watching Oprah join forces with CNN reporters around the world asking people on the street what they thought of America, Lewis realizes her path. Ask everyone the burning question, "What is the meaning of life?" and write a book about the answers.

No Experts Needed: The Meaning of Life According to You! is a book about the power of positive thinking, the Secret, the Law of Attraction, and the importance of being true to yourself. Lewis starts traveling and talking to everyone, from strangers at diners to Richard Dreyfuss at the ATM machine and from her own family to the survivors of hurricane Katrina and the 9/11 WTC attack.

And the answers she gets are incredible. From Richard Dreyfuss, "...You choose to give life meaning or not. If you choose to say life has no meaning, it doesn't. You'd be an idiot, but there you go...." From Katrina victim Dorothy Hampton, "The meaning of life is to move on. Deal the hand that's been dealt you." From NYC police officer Bobby Summers, "The meaning of life is to live to its fullest. Enjoy every day, even when things go wrong."

Deeply moving, interesting, and easy to read, No Experts Needed: The Meaning of Life According to You! reinforces the basic goodness that is inherent in all human beings.

The Girlz Guide To Building Wealth--Review

Most women my age (early 40s, in case you're wondering) grew up with many mixed messages in terms of building our financial futures. At the same time that we were seeing Ms. magazine and discussing the implications of Roe v. Wade and the Equal Rights Amendment, our parents were still pushing us to marry rich "just in case." I started to believe that marrying a wealthy man could be as viable a career as any other (witness the tragic Anna Nicole Smith story).

I and many of my friends and colleagues grew up believing that it was difficult to get by, almost impossible to make tons of money, and that, regardless, everything involved working endless hours at thankless jobs in the hopes of striking it rich by winning the lottery or the weekly Bingo jackpot. I also thought that real estate was always a long term purchase that was often more trouble than it was worth. The idea of flipping properties, of buying to rent, or buying pre-construction was never present. If only I had access to The Girlz Guide to Building Wealth... and men like it too twenty years ago...

This book serves two purposes and does them both justice. At a basic level this is a simple guide to real estate investing written by four highly successful investors. There are entire conversational chapters regarding building a team, locating properties, assessing properties, negotiating deals, and effectively managing a portfolio. Each chapter is clearly written and includes first person examples from people other than the authors who have made and lost money through such investing. You hear the good, bad, and the ugly and get to learn from it all.

At a deeper level, however, this is really a coaching and motivational book published by Bob Proctor's Life Success Publishing and written by students and practitioners of The Secret and Law of Attraction. So in addition to the nuts and bolts and pitfalls of real estate investing, the authors offer advice on goal setting, clarity, and networking to help readers take the leap into a new mindset of success.

Easy to read, filled with useful information, and encouraging - exactly what a Girlz Guide to Building Wealth should be!

Abraham-Hicks on Optimism

This was in my "in box" this morning from Abraham-Hicks:

We're asking you to trust in the Well-being. In optimism there is magic. In pessimism there is nothing. In positive expectation there is thrill and success. In pessimism or awareness of what is not wanted, there is nothing. What you're wanting to do is redefine your relationship with the Stream. We do not ask you to look at something that is black and call it white. We do not ask you to see something that is not as you want it to be and pretend that it is. What we ask you to do is practice moving your gaze. Practice changing your perspective. Practice talking to different people. Practice going to new places. Practice sifting through the data for the things that feel like you want to feel and using those things to cause you to feel a familiar place. In other words, we want you to feel familiar in your joy. Familiar in your positive expectation, familiar in your knowing that all is well, because this Universe will knock itself out giving you evidence of that Well-being once you find that place. We have enjoyed this interaction immensely. There is great love here for you. We are complete

My Portable Empire

In my time and journey on line I came across a quirky, fun, fabulous website by Marketing Guru Pat O'Bryan. I joined his email list and began to regularly use his information.

A few months ago Pat organized a contest where he would personally coach a group of individuals in creating their own Portable Empires. So I sent in my essay about why I wanted to work with him and why I was hungry for the opportunity. In the end Pat decided to accept everyone who applied.

So I was in! As a full member of the Portable Empire University I have access to Pat and the other members 27/7. There is homework, and tons of resources. I will be chronicling this journey here on the blog--look for the Label Portable Empire--so please join me in my building of Lynda's Portable Pilates Empire!

Now this is extra timely as I have joined the team over at Mike Wright's Golf Pilates as Educational Director and VP of Marketing. We are launching this brand with books, DVDs, MP3s, and live courses--so keep an eye open for all of this excitement!

I Won I Won I Won!

Sorry, I had a "Little Miss Sunshine" moment!

I entered a contest sponsored by Pat O'Bryan, online marketing genius and all around cool guy who works with Joe Vitale (from the Secret) and other "known" marketing folks. He has a new book coming out and wanted to find people to test his Portable Empire marketing program to prove that it works.

So I sent in my essay about why I wanted to grow more of an online web based business and lo & behold I'm in!

What I like about Pat's process is that I am not forced to sell things that I don't care about or don't believe in. It's about me producing my own content about Pilates, Reiki, Fitness, Health and getting what I believe in and do well out to the world in sellable pieces.

So be on the lookout for my Pilates & Reiki products, ebooks, audio programs, etc. They will be all over the internet very very soon!

Tell It Like It Is?

While I am not sure whether I truly believe in channeling, I do find useful teaching in the work of Abraham-Hicks (the teachers called Abraham speaking via Esther Hicks).

Here's one example--

"We practice the Art of Allowing. Which means reaching for the thought that feels best, not the thought that is the real thought, not the thought that is telling it like it is. Telling it like it is only holds you where it is: "Damn it, I'm going to tell it like it is. I'm going to tell it like it is, because everybody wants me to tell it like it is." Tell it like it is if you like it like it is. But if you don't like it like it is, then don't tell it like it is--tell it like you want it to be. If you tell it like you want it to be, long enough, you will begin to feel it like you want it to be, and when you feel it like you want it to be, it be's like you want it to be."
Excerpted from a workshop in Syracuse, NY on Saturday, September 30th, 2000

In other words, don't wallow in your misery or complain constantly about how bad life is (or your job, your house, your family, your money situation); think about what your life would be like if it was great! And guess what? It will become great.

How Frustrating!

Some days are just so frustrating! And I realize that I can change how I feel & react to situations, but it's very hard to do that on occasion.

Yesterday I woke up to an email informing me that the gym where I work might not have room or time for Pilates when they move in 2 weeks. Now, 2 weeks ago when I found out they were moving I asked and was told specifically that I shouldn't worry because there would definitely be space for all of us. So I have basically wasted 2 weeks during which I could have gotten something accomplished towards knowing where I will be practicing come 1 March! OY!

Then I went over to DHL to pick up a Pilates stuff shipment, and when I got there the major part of what I was expecting was NOT there! It turns out that DHL sent the stuff to Verona, Italy instead of the British West Indies.

Today is so far much better (and my attitude is better too!)

Abundance Abounds!

So the incumbent Premier Michael Misick and his progressive PNP party won the election in an unprecedented landslide of 13 seats to 2. Congratulations!

If you are reading this blog and have a related blog, please email me or leave a comment and let's exchange links and bring more traffic to all of us.

Today I am grateful for abundance. I am so appreciative of everything that I have--a great husband, pets, lots of good friends all over the world, a great little pink house to live in on a beautiful small island in the Caribbean (some say this is one of the last above water islands of Atlantis; TCI is also the only country that is located fully inside of the Bermuda Triangle), portable job skills, great clients, lovely pets. In general, life is damn good!

Choosing to focus only on abundance and not on lack has made a huge difference in my quality of life. Life IS good; all really IS well; and I have the choice to bask in that knowledge and reap the rewards or to focus on what I don't have and how sucky that feels. I choose what feels good!

I am posting some new MP3 downloads at my lulu.com store, so check it out in the next few days.

Preview to Life In Paradise

So as I keep doing more Reiki in my life and aligning my intentions with the universal scheme of things life really does continue to improve and gets only better & better. I love my job, my husband, my pets, friends, clients, job, and my life in this new home.

Before I left the states my friend Rebecca Debus who is a brilliant healer and a great soul told me that as soon as I made the decision to move here to Providenciales she could sense joyous celebrating by all of my guides and spirits. This was to the point where she had to ask them to be quiet during a healing session so she could hear what else was going on! As soon as I arrived here JoJo the dolphin, Smiley my potcake, and many sea turtles came out to welcome me home.

I never pictured myself in a hot caribbean island, yet I am so at home here it's almost scary.

The Power of Intentions

I wish everyone understood the power of intentions. That the universe truly does arrange itself according to what we want, say, and do. Just ask for exactly what you want and you will in fact get it; maybe not right away and maybe not exactly the way you envisioned, but the universe will give you what you want.

Yesterday I found out that we needed to move--huge rent increase for next month ($500!) that is just not happening. The rental market is so tight here right now that people can charge whatever they want and get it. So I put out the intention that I would find a cute little place in a good area for under $2000 per month.

Now I sent out e-mails and made phone calls, and one person replied to my e-mail that she was moving and would I like to see her rental before she gave notice and the company listed it. It's perfect and we have our next place! Just like that--ask and you will receive (just make sure you really want what you request, because you will get it).

Intenders of the Highest Good

With all the junk new age stuff on the web it can be hard to decide what's worth looking at every day. So I typically subscribe to things and then cancel them if they just seem to be useless junk.

The email Bridge series from The Intenders of the Highest Good is actually useful and interesting. Daily short stories and suggestions for what to focus on each day. For example Day Three was

"My Intention for today is: I intend that I am putting putting my imagination to it's best use by holding a vision of my ideal outcome."

With a helpful story and some suggestions on how to work this into my life.

It's good stuff and will make you think, so check it out!

The Secret

My New Years gift to myself was to finally watch the entire The Secret movie. I have flirted with it for months. People have sent me links, I subscribe to the work of almost all the experts, and I watch snippets at a time.

The teachings in this film are so simple and sound; so, well, hokey (for lack of a better term) that you wouldn't think they work. But they do and my life is proof.

We all have grown up with what we consider handicaps and we all have faced adversity. I had a bipolar mother with an enabling father, was broke most of my life, kept living for other people's expectations and never sat down and solidified my talents, my wants , my needs.

People ask me all the time what prompted my move out of the US. Yes, I had the family, the successful studio, the house in the suburbs, the two cars. But I was miserable. Constantly in debt, culminating in a bankruptcy court lawsuit. Employees who hated me and couldn't understand my life. Something was always missing, always lacking.

And the missing piece, the master key, was within myself all along. Once I decided to focus on what I wanted and making that life happen, which included being open to any and all possibilities, my life changed.
