ActivCore Functional Exercise

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to do a private ActivCore Redcord System session with Katherine Corp of Pilates on Fifth. I was fascinated by the machine and the cord system, and trusted Katherine as a long time Pilates teacher and studio owner to take me through a useful and difficult workout.

I encourage all Pilates teachers and serious students to try ActivCore. I was coming off of a back pain episode (I have a very unstable Sacro-Iliac joint and need Pilates to hold myself together) and really needed some stabilizing work for my ad and ab-ductors and my glutes.

The sling and cord system of the ActivCore puts you in a situation of controlled instability. While similar to some ball work I have done, and definitely familiar in the sense of Pilates and core focus, controlling the constantly moving cords slung around (at various times) my forearms, thighs, ankles, etc. worked my muscles in a new and interesting way.

I plan to do more of this work and really recommend it, especially if you have any injuries or weaknesses you are working through.

This is really a well laid out website. I like how you have presented your information with excellent detail. People need to understand the physical benefits of pilates and other exercises alike. Keep up the great work here and please visit by my blog sometime. The url is http://healthy-nutrition-facts.blogspot.com
